Testing Niora’s Alpha C Serum

I’ve heard good things about Niora’s skin care products in the last few months, especially the Seattle company’s Alpha C Serum. Some vitamin C serums are a bit too harsh for my skin, but I liked what I read about the ingredients in Niora’s products, and decided to give the serum a try. It’s only been a few weeks, but so far I love Alpha C. It seems to work synergistically with my pomegranate seed oil — the combo is producing excellent results.

The serum contains a Vitamin C ester tri-complex (ascorbyl dipalmitate, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, ascorbic acid polypeptide), along with aloe, jojoba oil, vitamin E, 10% naturally derived alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and a few other important ingredients. My skin can be very sensitive, but I’ve noticed no problems at all after using the serum. It absorbs quickly and has helped my skin retain moisture.

It’s too early to tell if Alpha C will help lighten the ‘age spots’ (hyperpigmentation) on my skin, but I already feel my skin has benefited from the subtle peeling action of the AHAs. Another plus, the company will send you a free vitamin C eye serum with your first order — it’s the only eye-area serum I’ve used in a very long time that does not cause skin irritation or migrate to redden my eyes.

Check back for updates as I continue to test Niora’s products.

Have You Tried Pomegranate Seed Oil?

Many of the pomegranate products we see for sale are made from the flesh of the pomegranate fruit, and we don’t hear as much about the oil made from pomegranate seeds. This liquid gold was a huge help to me during a time that an autoimmune issue left me with a rash, and continues to impact my skin in a positive way even though the rash is long gone. The benefits of pomegranate seed oil are many, perhaps enough to make it a part of your skin care regimen.

Kukui Nut Oil – Soothing and Moisturizing

Kukui nut oil is a gentle product that soothes and moisturizes the skin. And while no product can be added to a one-size-fits-all category, the oil pressed from kukui nuts does seem to be a product that’s universally beneficial.

Are You Considering a Facial Peel?

Facial peels can be used for a variety of skin issues — or simply as a way to provide occasional exfoliation to keep your skin soft and glowing. But skin peels aren’t all alike… the ingredients used in peels vary, and the “best” peel for you may not be the right choice for your friends and family.

Your esthetician will evaluate the condition of your skin before recommending a peel of any type, but you’ll be better prepared to ask questions if you learn a few skin peel basics before you have that next facial.
